HONORARY MENTION
Trasumanar
Francesco Boschetto
Francesco Boschetto (I), born 1970 in Arezzo, has been studying violin, jazz guitar and classical composition in Milan. In 1992 he moved to Stockholm to study electronic composition with Erik M. Karlsson at EMS studios. His music has been played by the Swedish Radio and at the Stockholm Electronic music festival. He has been awarded an honourary mention at the Stockholm Electronic Arts Awards 1995.
This composition is dedicated to the Italian poet, writer and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini, who died twenty years ago, killed under unclear circumstances, near the sea near Rome.
The piece is meant to represent a journey in four short movements. The reason for this journey is explained by the title, a word invented by Pasolini and used to name a late collection of poems ("Trasumanar e organizzar"). It means to transcend the human, to grab an object, a spiritual, or mental object, in order to bring it in contact with the material and confer it a form.
