HONORARY MENTION

I had long been looking for a way to play notes back one at a time. After DirectX 8 came out, I had the chance to make my “dreams” (and more) come true. When I realized that many players allow one to convert notes into images as they are played, I decided I wanted to make the reverse happen for once. In October 2001, I did the groundwork for the program: I “decoded” the DirectX 8 documentation and laid the foundations for the program. In autumn and winter I evolved the special tools and the program design. In early 2002, I expanded the program by including some examples and adding new features: a paint program and an audio recorder. Afterwards, I betatested it on members of my family and got rid of a few flaws.
