HONORARY MENTION
Omega::Shield
Jürgen Hoog

The security of data and information is very important to me. Unfortunately, however, this security is not always guaranteed. Strangers often penetrate into computer systems and create chaos there. Now Omega::Shield is intended to provide a new possibility for protection from these kinds of attackers. This is done, as crazy as it sounds, precisely by not protecting yourself, but consciously allowing attackers to penetrate the system.

The trick here is that the attackers do not actually get to see the real system, but only a virtual platform, in order to deceive them. The supposed "victim" is meanwhile able to observe all the attacker's actions through the Omega::Shield —cutting off the connection if necessary, interacting and even determining the approximate origin of the attack using trace route. Another feature of Omega::Shield is that the Windows Trace Route command can be started directly from the Omega::Shield-environment. This means that the attacker's position can be traced back through his IP address. Omega::Shield is flexible software. This means that it is not only possible to use Omega::Shield as a special kind of firewall, but also as a web server, for example, or even a chat server. The Omega::Shield TransferSpy makes it possible to receive and send data directly via TCP, for example, so that you can chat with another Omega::Shield user.
