HONORARY MENTION
Revo Race
Mathias Kuntner

The basic idea of the game Revo Race is that you ride a fast and futuristic motorcycle which can only be steered at right angles and leaves walls in its wake. This means the playing field soon turns into a labyrinth. The goal is to enclose your opponent within your walls and so force him to crash into a wall. The player who is left over is the winner of that round. To make the entire game more actionpacked, Revo Race also includes speedups as well as different kinds of shots and shields.

Revo Race is depicted in 3D images that I created using a Revo3D engine which I also wrote. It was programmed first and supports modern DirectX8 technologies, including reflections, shadows, etc. It was intensively optimized and thus combines high performance with low system requirements.

It was a while later that I developed Revo Race. It took me about a year and I did it alongside my studies at the HTBL. Meanwhile, after extending it a bit, the game exists in a 1.4 version which now also supports network games.
