We formed “Creative Minds” with the goal of developing a computer game which would present a “heroine” on a virtual adventure through different MKK levels.
Right from the start we had lots of creative ideas, but it was a mystery to us how we could actually implement them in a computer game. It wasn’t until we persuaded Wolfgang Hoffelner from the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz to become our project supervisor that our ideas took concrete form.
First we wrote an exact script and determined the different levels. Afterwards we tackled the different jobs involved, such as designing the images, the backgrounds or the figures for the game. We also decided to incorporate animated photos of the “heroine” and a few of her teachers, and to film some short sequences. A further step was to realize the audio track for the tasks in the game, which we did by recording our own voices and those of our teachers. The last step was to scan in all the drawings and edit them on the computer. The game was programmed using the software Adventure Game Studio.
After working for some three months, the game 10 MKK Jubiläumsfun was finished. It presents the MKK heroine’s everyday life at school on a total of 8 levels, starting with her entrance exam and ending with her splendid (dreamt) performance as a star.
