Satanicpornocultshop is global, the authors linked with their fellow collagists, plagiarists and other plunderphonist counterparts (Kurt Schwitters, Negativland, John Oswald, etc). Human absurdity and its results are their main influence.

With their Zap Meemees record this selfdescribed surrealistic hip-hop collective offer up a hefty all-you-can-eat smorgasboard of remixes, singles, and compilation tracks, pulverizing, regurgitating, and reinterpreting everything from Kylie Minogue and the Velvet Underground to Duran Duran and Black Sabbath. Samples are mashed and familiar vocals are unnervingly reperformed with their eccentric bravado.

Satanicpornocultshop depicts a puzzling, destabilizing, ludicrously intricate, brain-frazzling attention to mangled composition. Unveiling some hitherto-unexplored strain of Fluxus breakcore or super-informatic, sample-gorged electro/ hip-hop, the hyper-dense structures constructed by Ugh portray a real human sampler, a junk sound edit virtuoso. Just add to that an immense musical culture, a taste for ultimate groove and pop music satire, and you will have a pretty good idea of what makes this band quite nlike anything else around.
