HONORARY MENTION
Robo
Christopher Sax

I began working on Robo only a few weeks before the deadline for Prix Ars Electronica. My goal was to build a completely functional robot that would move all on its own towards a source of light. And so I began working: on the aluminum chassis, drilling holes and sawing out the separate parts. Every time there was a problem, I felt like quitting. But I succeeded in overcoming a number of difficulties (e.g., wiring mistakes and an error in programming the microcontroller). Since I’m very interested in physics, the project tailor-made for me. It was my first robot. Then I heard about the Prix Ars Electronica from my physics teacher. Though at this point my robot wasn’t done yet. So I hurried to finish it and sent in my project on the day of the deadline.

The robot has the following parts: aluminum chassis, wiring, superstructure, microcontroller, rotor, and transistors.
