After intense discussion and analysis, as well as up-dating the competition evaluation criteria, seven juries of international experts have once again selected the best entries to the competition from each category. For the three main awards in each category, the winners received a total of € 115,000 in cash prize. The selection gives a survey of the current situation, and thus is also a statement on tendencies and trends in media art production. At the same time, it offers artists a unique and reputable platform to present their work to the international art world. What's more, many artists and artist collectives have found their way from the Prix Ars Electronica onto the art market and into museums and galleries. Seen from this perspective, the Prix Ars Electronica continues in the third decade of its existence to fulfill its role as seismograph of international media art events with interest, care and responsibility.
