The 1994 Prix Ars Electronica maintained the constellation of categories that had been in place since 1990: Computer Animation, Interactive Art, Computer Music and Computer Graphics. The most noteworthy development was a 45% rise (to 341) in the number of Computer Music submissions. Entries in the Interactive Art category likewise showed strong growth and topped 200.
