What Will Remain of These
Camouflaged as infomats, three processors and camera units lurk in wait for new visitors—in order to first hold up a mirror in front of them and then to dissolve the reflected images into a veil of hovering, wafting pixels. Heisenberg's Indeterminacy Theory states that it is impossible to totally understand even small complex systems because the presence of the observer fundamentally effects a system's behavior; similarly, there is no "correct" standpoint from which to consider Chris Dodge's work here. The image on the monitor dissolves as a result of the observer's movements, which leave behind their traces—which have become anonymous—in the form of mathematical algorithms.
