What does the future have in store for us? Will global warming produce a Mediterranean climate in Austria? Will the world become a global village and English its lingua franca?
What do your own personal visions of the next 25 years look like? Post them online at http://www.aec.at/predictions and read the prognostications that others have come up with! Website visitors can also post comments and responses to any of the predictions, as well as vote on the likelihood of them actually coming true.
During the 2004 Ars Electronica Festival, “timeline+25” will be accessible online as an open platform to enable festivalgoers to give expression to their visions and scenarios, to publicly air their comments, and to cast their votes. On September 7, 2004, the final day of the festival, the site will be frozen. There will be no further input, and the status quo will be archived as a snapshot of a moment in time.
