Animation Festival
For the first time, the Ars Electronica lineup will feature an animation festival showcasing the best works from the 2005 Prix and many other outstanding efforts in the field of computer animation.

More than 450 films, VX works and advertising spots were submitted to the 2005 Prix Ars Electronica for prize consideration in the Computer Animation/Visual Effects category. The animation festival will compile these works into a film show that exemplifies the state of the art in visual design. The Selection Prix Ars Electronica 2005 invites viewers to go on an exciting and passionate journey through leading-edge technological developments, visual design, envisioning scientific phenomena, artistic experimentation and storytelling with a wide variety of objectives.

In addition to this “best of” selection from the 2005 competition, audiences will also be treated to a special curated program including works from the animation show at the Japan Media Festival in Tokyo.
