Virtual reality simulator of a continuous casting plant for industrial steel processing.
This project is part of the Ars Electronica Futurelab’s long and successful collaboration with Voest Alpine Industrieanlagenbau. This virtual continuous casting plant makes it possible to train employees and to replace elaborate quality control procedures in the laboratory with virtual environment technology. Additional information and media can be linked up to this simulation and integrated into a realistic environment. Furthermore, this application is not limited to training tasks; it can also be utilized for the presentation of innovative steel rolling technology at trade shows.
