This work is the result of an inquiry on Multimedia applications in Linux
with highly modular structure (Multimedia Framework). Another major focus was the possibility to run the software on embedded systems.
Some promising projects were evaluated and rated with respect to their
internal structure and capabilities.
Finally, a media-player was developed for GStreamer - a very promising
and ambitious framework.
