In conjunction with REGplus, a structural program sponsored by Austria's Foundation for the Advancement of Research (FFG), Ars Electronica is working to support small and mid-size regional companies.

Ars Electronica has been commissioned by the FFG to conduct a REGplus module designed to nurture promising regional R&D efforts. Within the framework of the “Transfer” project, the Ars Electronica Futurelab will support a variety of activities to promote professionalism and innovation on the part of small and mid-size regional companies through the design and implementation of custom-tailored solutions involving media technology.
“Transfer” is thus an exemplary effort to confront research labs with the concrete issues and needs of private sector firms, and to thus specifically broker collaborations designed to lead to mutually beneficial joint ventures.
