The Ars Electronica Futurelab supported the staging of the 50th anniversary of the Kommunalkredit-Bank in Vienna by means of media-artistic interventions.
Guests were invited to place their hands on a terminal that read their pulse, registering them to a virtual guest book. Each individual's pulse was then displayed graphically and became part of a three dimensional dynamic sculpture that contained pulse data of all guests.
With the appearance of guests in the guest book, the virtual space that had been empty was filled with the dynamic curves that acted as representations and indicators for the actual physical and emotional state of the event.
At the beginning of the event the digital ambiance was distributed over a system of displays. During the course of the celebration, this system served as a platform for video signals that were manipulated by musical impulses. A composition by Ervin Kiennast and Norman Weichselbaum was performed simultaneously at 3 different places, and the performances were united by an artistically arranged video image.
