An elevator ride through the human body is visualized on the basis of data from the “Visible Human Project.”
As part of the “Visible Human Project” carried out at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, a cadaver was sliced into millimeter-thick slivers that were then individually photographed. Based on these data, the Ars Electronica Futurelab produced an animation sequence of a ride through the human body from the toes to the top of the skull.
The floor of the AEC lift cabin serves as the display surface for this projection, which allows passengers to move about right down to the frame within video sequences
