As part of Ars Electronica’s 25th anniversary festivities, a series of events entitled “Digital Avant-Garde: Celebrating 25 Years of Ars Electronica” will be held from May 21 to July 18 in New York.
Two exhibitions at Eyebeam and the American Museum of the Moving Image and a symposium at the Austrian Cultural Forum will document and analyze the development of digital art over the last 25 years. Eyebeam hosts “Prix Selection” showcasing prizewinners from the Prix Ars Electronica’s Interactive Art category. The “Interactions/Art and Technology” exhibition at the American Museum of the Moving Image focuses on the work of the Futurelab, Ars Electronica’s own R&D laboratory. Prominent media artists will spend two days at the Austrian Cultural Forum discussing the development and future of media art.
