Joachim Sauter (DE), Susanne Jaschko (DE), Jussi Ängeslevä (FN)

ART+COM is one of the world’s most acclaimed studios working with new media. Its projects are situated at the nexus of design, technology, art and research. Now, the first comprehensive showcase of ART+COM’s oeuvre is appearing in the form of two publications by Berlin’s Gestalten Verlag: “ART+COM Medien, Räume und Installationen” and “ART+COM Media Spaces and Installations.” During the book presentation at Ars Electronica, Joachim Sauter (DE), Susanne Jaschko (DE) and Jussi Ängeslevä (FN) will focus on highlights of ART+COM’s 23-year history and thereby give an account of the history of new media from the perspective of an interdisciplinary studio.

DEEP SPACE LIVE Photographie ORIGIN

Lois Lammerhuber (AT), Robert Reinagl (AT)

Photographer Lois Lammerhuber (AT) visited CERN and other locations in an effort to enable viewers to behold the dimension of science that can be seen. In Deep Space, Lammerhuber will take festivalgoers on spectacular photographic zoom-ins and explain pictorial and technical aspects of his images. Besides CERN, the Louvre and Hallstatt were some of the other stops on this scientific journey’s itinerary. Robert Reinagl (AT), a member of the ensemble at Vienna’s Burg Theater, will intersperse readings of art historical interest.

DEEP SPACE LIVE Inside CERN

Michael Doser (AT/CH), Joao Pequenao (PT/CH), Dietrich Liko (AT/CH), Werner Riegler (AT/CH)

DEEP SPACE LIVE LHC – LARGE HADRON COLLIDER: BOOK LAUNCH AND TALK

Lois Lammerhuber (AT), Rolf Heuer (DE/CH), Franzobel (AT), Peter Ginter (DE)

Peter Ginter (DE), one of the world’s best photographers, and author Franzobel (AT) collaborated with CERN Director Rolf Heuer (DE/CH) to get the inside story of the LHC – Large Hadron Collider. Members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (AT) play “beautyful music for a beautyful beast” – Music for the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) by Ralph Schutti (AT) (world premiere).

DEEP SPACE LIVE The Art of Body Mass

Herbert Gnauer (AT) with InnoC.at (AT), Happy Lab (AT), Joe Noname (AT), Doron Goldfarb (AT)

The theremin is presumably the oldest purely electronic musical instrument. It’s played without touching it, usually by moving the hands. Herbert Gnauer (AT) worked together with InnoC.at (AT), Happy Lab (AT), Rani Candratara (AT) and Joe Noname (AT) to develop two theremins that can be played with the whole body. Plus, Doron Goldfarb’s visualization software delivers a real-time 3D projection attuned to the sound.
