For his solo show at NOME, Hard Copy, Matthew Plummer-Fernandez produced four 3D prints of popular cultural icons, remixed and distorted in a computer modelling program, alongside translations of the sculptures into .png image files.
The polyamide figures suggest the strange futures of these familiar cartoons – whose images are reproduced widely on file-sharing sites – and stand as emblems for questions of copyright and participatory internet culture.
