The steady pulse of the kick drum and syncronized pulsing lights
effectively breaks and removes thought patterns. The same happens when
you use brain machines. The effect is based on the property of a neural
network - when it receives a pulsing signal the neurons phase lock to
that and form groups of oscillating networks.

If you imagine a sea where you see crossing waves forming interface
patterns - that is the mind in a normal state. Then becomes a storm
and the waves grow huge and distroy all the small ripples. That is what
happens under influence of raves, brain machine or in a club, the effect
of which in your mind level you perceive as amnesia or numbness, when
the storm is over. You have forgot the details.

However, I do not suggest using too much the pulse-forced methods
above since successive use can cause more harm in the long run for the
neural network, than good. Why? Let's say you have today pulse-forced
amnesia by a brain machine. Fine, it effectively removes the previous
pulse patterns that caused you stress. Next day you have another session,
and so on. Now, what happens between these sessions? Each session forces
the neural network to oscillate and form groups of neurons of the size
100-1000 which are needed to represent each wave. So new groups, based
on random connections are forced to form in your brain. Next day your
brain is broken similarly but the neurons in each group will be
different, because you cannot control how the neurons will start phase
locking. Through successive sessions, your mind becomes splitted
smaller and smaller chunks to the level when each individual neuron has
been part of hundreds artificially forced phase locked groups. For neurons
this is like you would have to change a job each day. You brain is not
designed to operate that way. The distruction mechanism is not
selective and while you are distroying the bad stress patterns you
distroy also the good ones. You may start feeling emptiness. Nothing
new emerges into your mind.

Meditation and dreaming are both based on a similar principle, but
they induce the waves by internal means with much smoother effect, and
can selectively remove only the bad patterns. It's much more detailed
than pushing the frequency button of your brain machine. My suggestion
is to develop natural techniques for coping better in the information
world. Marihuana, coffee and alcohol are on my everyday mind enhancer
suggestion list. Physical exercise and sex are also good ones since
they take complete control of your mind and make you concentrate on
non-information.
