--------------------------------------------------------- ARS ELECTRONICA FESTIVAL 99 LIFESCIENCE Linz, Austria, September 04 - 09 http://www.aec.at/lifescience --------------------------------------------------------- PRESS RELEASE (Extrct.) Today B-Gen-Tech Inc. announced the signing of a contract with biogenetic artist Trevor Batten to design their new range of "Sphinx" which will be cloned for sale to tourists in Egypt. Production is expected to start early next year. Rumours that production has ceased on the flying horse for the Greek market after the prototype was eaten by a cyclops have been strongly denied. A spokesman claimed that production of the "virgin Mary" doll was progressing on schedule but admitted that although the parthegenic principle was solved there were still problems in balancing the rate of reproduction. Consumer tests were still in progress. Share prices still showed signs of nervousness after plans for a "Dr. Frankinstein Monster" were modified after the "Boris Carloff" copywrite holder won their case last month. Plans to build a "Mary Shelly Original" have run into problems with the bio-degradabilty problem. A spokesman stated that models with an evolutionary time element often gave termination and disposal problems. Worries about the environment in Antartica remained a prime concern. A spokesperson for the ORF in Linz refused to comment on the possibility of their having exclusive transmission rights for the European Dragon Baiting Championship organised by Great Britain and Barcelona in cooperation with other places with strong traditions relating to St.George. Trevor Batten has not been seen in public since the incident early last year at the Biogenetic Artists Conference in New Mexico where he(?) appeared as a giant fly. His agent also refused to comment -and gestured that his lips were sealed. EUROTIMES Synd.
