Organic emotions enhanced by electronics – not the other way around.

I want my music overflowing with 500 years of pain, lust, inspiration, and energy. How do we express the human condition through these new interfaces? I made this Drumcorps album with that in mind. Stylistically it’s a combination of breakcore and metal. Technically it’s a melding of hardware and software – organic emotions enhanced by electronics – not the other way around.

Punk, metal, hardcore – these genres of music are typically associated with over-the-top live performances, stage shows exploding with energy and down-and-dirty interaction between audience and performers. My goal was to marry the heart-stopping excitement of these live shows with the limitless capabilities of today’s technology. The result is the Drumcorps live set. Far from being solely studio music, Drumcorps tracks are composed to be played live. The result is dynamic in every sense – fluid time-stretching, squelching, guitar chugging, filter sweeps and builds, beat explosions, tempo shifting. Because the artist can now freely and spontaneously react to the audience, they become participants as well.
