In his church, a priest is trying to intercept a radio signal meant for a mysterious agent: “A client’s at a place called Bourdaloue!” The priest jumps into his 2CV, while another guy quickly mounts a moped. Not far away, Monsieur Moulin, a feverish eighty-year-old, dangerously scales his cupboard in an attempt to reach a bottle of schnapps. Meanwhile, on a small country road, the 2CV and the moped are conducting a relentless chase. But then the motor of the moped falters and the 2CV speeds off. Having arrived in the nick of time, the priest saves Monsieur Moulin from falling.

What appears to have been the deft chivalry of the priest soon reveals itself to be something of a completely different nature. Under the pretext of his mountain of unpardonable sins, the priest persuades Monsieur Moulin to reserve a place in paradise and so ensure his days after death. The way to do this: invest in the strange machine that the priest has invented and built for visiting paradise. The old man remains skeptical to his pitch for heaven until the priest pulls his trump card – the machine itself. The idea of visiting paradise immediately entices his new client.

The contract has just been signed, when there’s a knock at the door. It’s the Grim Reaper who has come to fetch a certain Monsieur Moulin who has fallen from a cupboard. Scared stiff, the old man, in a moment of lucidity, has an idea that saves his skin: he points to the priest. Without even trying to grasp what has happened, Death deals the priest a fatal blow. His mission accomplished, he puts on his helmet and takes off on his moped.
