Three was assembled on a computer using a simple editing program.The sound sources used were mostly derived from prepared guitar, analog synthesizer and field recordings, some of which were treated with a modular synthesizer and/or computer sound synthesis program.

I had approximately five or six sections that I wanted to work with. Each section had its own character. There is no specific system of logic in the way I assembled the piece. I was merely guided by the “feel”of the sections, and everything seemed to fall into place the way it did without regard for any personal aesthetic considerations (with regards to form) that I might normally have.
Three was realized in fall and winter of 99. A slightly different version using a quadraphonic sound system was presented in Chicago in December 99, a revised version should appear on Perdition Plastics in late 00.
