as a principle, the charged field between electronic and non-electronic instruments. a self-defined microcosm emerges from it, in which minimal shifts and modulations within the tonal and rhythmic structure determine the actual dynamics. the individual levels are layered, similar to a layering of differently rough surfaces, to form a unified noise-tone texture.
“The trio Radian appear rather reserved and calm with just the right aural measure for temporal processes. As a band, which is rather unusual in the field of electronic music, using percussion, bass, analog synthesizer and sampler, Radian process more the inner charge of sounds, playing around them and linking them with new branches rediscovered in playing. Yet this also results in grooves that would invite dancing or at least swaying along, if the audience were brave enough for that. Perhaps, however, Radian is simply the first exemplary band, whose rhythmical structures are not thirsting for speed, but rather for tranquilizers.” (Christof Kurzmann)
