Evaluation of handheld PCs capabilities.
The aim of the Palmist Project is to replace virtual environments’ limited, inflexible interfaces with programmable handheld PCs, and thereby to enhance the possibilities of navigation in and control of the environments as well as to open up an additional information level in the form of the Palmist display. Besides expanding the possibilities of interaction with virtual environments, the Palmist used in tandem with ARS BOX infrastructure can be used to run additional applications such as PowerPoint presentations, videos and slideshows. The user can thus bring media content up on screen and control it from any perspective he/she desires and, what’s more, determine the exact portion of the presentation screen on which it is to be displayed.
