This is the fourth year that Linz’s University of Art and Industrial Design is hosting a presentation by an international academy of art that takes an innovative approach to teaching media art and media culture.

In this interactive, computer-controlled visualization of Wagner’s music on an 850m2 panorama screen, the music is directly translated into an incredible variety of visual effects that immerse the audience into a metamorphosis of colors and forms. Viewers follow the settings of the opera’s scenes in a totally innovative way. The visualization of the opera “Das Rheingold” is performed by Linuxbased software developed at the Ars Electronica Futurelab. This makes it possible to compute all the projections from various different angles and to present synchronized stereoscopic images on five large-format screens. |
