Once a year, every year since 1979, all of Linz becomes a stage for media installations, video projections and sound sculptures. From the Brucknerhaus to the Lentos, from the O.K Offenen Kulturhaus Oberösterreich to the University of Art and Design Linz, from the Ars Electronica Center to Donaupark, and from Pfarrplatz to Hauptplatz events, concerts and performances invite festivalgoers to encounter world-class media art.

Paul Granjon, is a visual artist working with electronics, robotics, video and programming. He applies a playful, hands-on approach to the production of machines for his humorous performances, dealing with the co-evolution of humans and machines.
Washer, whose musical spectrum ranges from humorous, slightly cartoonish hardcore electronics to relatively straight, danceable sets all the way to dark broken beat landscapes rich in bass.
DJ Klub rounds out the evening with soul, roots, hip hop and dirty beats from the record collection.

This sixth installment of Ars Electronica’s gala concert evening gets back to this series’ roots by focusing on the man-music-technology nexus. The concert will establish a link between what might be seen from a contemporary perspective as “old” New Music and the latest trends in this genre: electro-acoustic music by Dieter Kaufmann, visualized orchestral works by Edgar Varése, Elliot Carter and Michel van der Aa, traditional Chinese instruments with electronics and acrobatic voice performance, which audience members can experience with their senses and also participate in interactively.
