From our home base, DroneLab in POSTCITY, we’ll embark on a fact-finding tour featuring projects, demos, races and airborne artistry, and providing insightful looks into the fascinating world of unmanned aerial vehicles. Festivalgoers are also cordially invited to try their hand at piloting a drone. We put you in control of a very user-friendly quadcopter and, just in case, we put a safety net between the two of you while you’re getting the hang of it! Drone Academy convenes daily 10 AM-12 Noon and 1-3 PM. How are drones actually being utilized now and what applications will soon be emerging? Experts in a variety of fields elaborate on how and where drones are deployed and what’s coming soon. The Ars Electronica Futurelab is staging demonstrations of high performance flying in a wide range of disciplines: logistics drones, agricultural drones, freestyle aerial acrobatics and the world’s fastest racers: XBlade Allstarts get Radical. You can satisfy your need for speed daily at the Radical Drone Races, an elimination tournament with a field of international aces! The substantive focus will be on Ars Electronica’s SPAXELS® which are taking to the sky above Donaupark on Saturday September 10 at 7:45 PM, when Ars Electronica and Intel™ present “DRONE100, Spaxels over Linz.”
