The electrolobby Kitchen, the festival’s discussion forum and communication hub, is entitled HYBRID CLUSTERS & PARADOX ENCOUNTERS and dedicated to fostering re-contextualization and confrontation of different worlds and points of view. This year's features include “Commons & Communities” focusing on Digital Divide politics in India, media activism in Italy and Austria, and “openness” in the context of free software and open cultures; a caucus of the World Culture Forum Alliance (WCFA) on knowledge-based society, cultural sustainability and the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS II Tunis); as well as artistic works, projects, initiatives and publications dealing with these issues.

Friday 2.9.

13:30 – 14:00: Presentation: Radio FRO Projects during Ars Electronica 2005: DIY Databasing!, Do It Yourself! Radio on Demand, Creative Archive Licences and Solutions for small-scale digital radio.

14:00 – 15:00: HYBRID MEMORIES - Matt Locke (BBC, UK), Dieter Daniels (HGB Leipzig) talk about aspects of human memory (and forgetting), efforts and strategies of memory-keeping in the digital age from archiving projects to individual reactions and disorders. The relationship of memory and concepts of time, collective and individual memory spans, mechanism of handing on cultural memory between the generations and their disruptions through media and side effects of globalization.

16:00 – 17:00: Presentation & Performance "cntrcpy™" - Space-project of Artists-group CNTRCPY™: Travelling to planet Mars with mobile-based navigation, propagandavideo, space-food, training for cosmonauts.

13:30 – 14:30: Lawine Torrén - Project for the Rettenbach-Glacier in 2006 - Hubert Lepka & Ernst Lorenzi – The makers of this year’s Klangwolke for the first time present their new project to be staged at the Rettenbech-Glacier, which follows up on their alpine success „Hannibal“.

14:30 – 15:30: HYBRID SENSIBILITIES – Carolyn Guertin (CA) and Carlo Formenti (IT)

15:30 – 16:30: HYBRID ACTIVISM - Media Activism under Conditions of Italian Reality -Donatella della Ratta, Vincenzo Susca, Carlo Formenti, Agnese Trocchi and Ciro d'Aniello talk about their experiences with changing forms of media activism under conditions of Italian Reality.

16:30 – 17:00: Presentation The Trinity Session - Marcus Neustetter (ZA)

17:00 – 18:00: HYBRID DEVELOPMENT - Politics of the Digital Divide - Geetha Narayanan (IN), Marcus Neustetter (ZA), Usman Haque (UK) and Pullukkottayil Habel Kurien (IN) talk about questions of the Digital Divide as seen under different aspects: education, artistic work, interfaces and architecture and infrastructure projects.

17:00 – 19:00: OPEN FORUM "Cultural Sustainability and the Digital Divide - Positions for WSIS II Tunis 2005" - In a globalized world, issues connected with cultural memory and diversity as well as problems of cultural sustainability and human development take on new and more sharply defined contours. The role of media literacy in sustainable development and the cultural aspects of the so-called digital divide will be discussed by different stakeholders in this Open Forum initiated by the “Platform for Open Cultures in Open Societies” – an initiative from World Culture Forum (WCFA), Ars Electronica, Austrian UNESCO-Commission and development-policy groups.
