The 2007 CyberArts exhibition in the OK Offenen Kulturhaus Oberösterreich will once again present the prizewinning projects in the Prix Ars Electronica’s Interactive Art category. Just as the name says: all installations are interactive and thus call upon those partaking of them to undertake a direct, hands-on approach to the encounter. The Ars Electronica Center will be celebrating the start of the Festival with the premiere of its new exhibits and installations; the u19 zone has also gotten a cool new look. The Ars Electronica Futurelab will be staging an exhibition to accompany the Pixelspaces Conference.

AUDIOWALK GUSEN

The Invisible Camp
The AUDIOWALK GUSEN explores a now private space that, despite a 60-year-long culture of forgetting, could not be withheld from public interest. The AUDIOWALK seeks the concealed memory of an area that contained the concentration camps Gusen I and II during the Nazi dictatorship. Whoever takes the AUDIOWALK GUSEN will be guided by a voice via headphones through a pleasant residential and recreational landscape that reveals nothing of its past on the surface.

u19 - freestyle exhibition

"u19 – freestyle computing" is Austria’s largest computer competition for young people. It’s been held annually since 1998 in conjunction with the Prix Ars Electronica and has successfully established itself as a setting in which the creative spirit of youth can interface with our digital future. The growing number and diversity of submissions each year—including Internet applications, websites, graphics, computer animation, sounds and homebrew hardware & software—bespeak an unconventional and creative encounter with our mediatized society.
