I.M. FREE

I.M. FREE is a program based on the free improvisation, using the non-harmonic music materials for its sound base. Noise produced by various sonic operations through the speakers mixes freely with saxophone sounds, transformed—rough and unleashed!

Red

The center elements of the work are a red glass crystal and a flexible Fresnel lens. The project includes many reworked electronic devices – a CD-ROM, an old scanner, reused electric motors. Multiple moving elements provide a wide variability for rather primitive optical elements.

Driver

Driver is an mechanism consisting of a system of two sound circuits and auxiliary mechanical and electronic elements. The first sound circuit is a speaker emitting sound with a square wave shape. Copper balls are dispensed and fall on the membrane of this speaker one at a time or several at a time.

( UN ) MEASUREMENTS

Consider a mechanical rotation, like a car motor: it has a fixed cycle, but no rotation is exactly equal to the previous one. Atn external input slowly but constantly contaminates it. Such is the nature of all matter, a cyclic being but never a static one.

In a field of fog and sound, Light Barrier generates animated, magical, spatial images in the air. These are created by hundreds of light rays refracted by mirrors. The six-minute sequence is a journey through the cycle of birth, death and rebirth, and the human idea of space and time.

Semiotics of the Laboratory aims to question the symbolic and semantic properties of laboratory practices when they are interpreted at face value—that is, merely through their visual observation, without the narrative that tries to explain their scientific meaning. It is a laboratory observing the interpretation of the laboratory practice itself.
