2029 | Future is here

The groundhog will come out on groundhog day, people will celebrate New Year's eve on Times Square. TV will show reruns during the summer. FIlm starts will divorce, fall in love and cause scandals.

People will still try to predict the future, mostly in vain.

People will still forget, that the most important thing is that here and now, we are alive.

2029 | DMV Tracking and Virtual Ticketing

With the mandatory use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and EZ-Pass in vehicles, and imbedded receivers in our roadways, The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be able to track all the moves your vehicle makes. The DMV will issue summonses, and of course the money making fines, based on the data in your vehicles on-board computer or Vehicular Black Box (VBB). The VBB, similar to an airplane’s Black Box, records everything the vehicle does. Every time the vehicle speeds, change lanes or turns without signaling, tailgates etc, the data is stored in the VBB and the appropriate violation and fine is calculated. Instantly, your mandatory EZ-Pass will be debited the total amount of the fine. Privacy rights groups will not be able to successfully fight this law as the data collected will not be about a particular person or driver but about a non-human vehicle.

2029 | First Brain Transplant

Miriam Georgina Rosamunda Wu-Fujimori becomes the first recipient of a transplanted braincage, with the full attached body included. Newspapers, philosophers and fifth graders alike debate whether this should be called a "brain transplant" or a "body transplant". Therapeutic cloning having been fully accepted in 2018, the body part factories receive a 50% increase in demand, as people around the world get ready to change to "this year's model".

2029 | We grow up.

I'm being truly optimistic, but by this time we have recognised the fact than we are all but a single race - human - on a small planet in a larger reality and as a consequence, begin to achieve our greatest potential - to behave as a mature species amongst (hopefully) many in the brilliant universe.

2029 | Ads upcoming

Over my life so far, I've seen the rise of the internet and vast changes in advertising - I think these things will continue to change and evolve. Right now in advertising the move is towards placing products in areas that consumers are not aware of an inured to. Product placement in movies gets through to viewers more than TIVO skipped ads and scanned past paper ads and ignored web banners. Personal recommendations make a much stronger impact than traditional ads. These things will continue. In 2029, you will be advertised to in a highly personalized fashion, you will receive micropayments on every recommendation you make to friends, and product placement will be heavy in childrens literature and schools. You will find that accepting ads makes your life easier than trying to avoid it - discounts on products, credit card rebates, less expensive parking, special toll booth lanes on the roads etc.

2029 | Nothing

In the year 2029, nothing will have changed. We fight the same wars, have the same problems we have now en face the same dangers we face now.

Maybe this is the worst-case scenario everybody is afraid to talk about: that this is ít. There will be nothing more. No more. Ever. Never.

2029 | Virtual Reality World-wide Network has been launched yesterday!

Finally what was a promise of a new way of living for the last five years has been switched on last night in the most impressive fashion: The VRWWN has been successfully launched.
Just 25 years ago (August 2004) it was called the Internet, a prehistoric mammoth slow and useless for most of our parents, today is the state of the art centralised system that governs our homes and our entertainment with a very sophisticated globalize network.
Every home in the planet has the ability to access in real time all information around the world.
The system is equipped with a virtual reality time machine that reconstruct all data input on the network and gives possibility to people to go back in time and interact with historical events. In my house last night, while granddad was playing guitar with the Beatles, my kids were trying to stop the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster. The VRWWN is very impressive indeed, too good to be true. I wonder if somebody was watching me while shaving this morning… It doesn’t matter as long as granddad is happy!…

2029 | Duke Nukem Forever released

After 32 years of development and ten generations of 3D engines, "Duke Nukem Forever" hits the shelves. Since the people still remembering the Duke Nukem series of computer games are now in their fities and sixties, the success is somewhat limited.

2029 | Two worlds

In 25 years, I hope we don't have to work for getting food and a place to live. This should be done by robots, which will do farming and building nice places for humans to live. Every human should have some basic supply. Everybody who wants more should do something useful, work on something, maybe to entertain others...
Possible by the advancing technoligy I would think that in this time we are able to create huge virtual worlds, where all people can go and do what they want, be whoever they want, create whatever want, whatever they have in mind... So a lot of people can live out adventures, or explore the world (our world or some fantastic worlds created by some creative genius), learn new things (so much we have to learn today would be so much easier if we could easily visualize it)... and so on. Endless possibilities! ;-)

Would that not be good?

2029 | Year of my 50th Birtday!

  2029 - its my 50th Birthday !

The small thought garden - celebration for some friends exceeds to an proclamation for the values of 1969 - sex drugs and rock n' roll!

What began in my tiny garden beginns to become a new value for a future generation - a new century of pure hedonism!

Let the party be started....
