How do the mind and brain orient in and internally represent an urban environment? To learn about navigation in real-world action, the interdisciplinary research lab at University College London UCL has been working on a series of fieldwork experiments, using mobile EEG technology and bipartite mobile applications on smartphone and tablet devices. Workshop participants join a guided walk and mock-up experiment around a testing area in Linz, followed by a talk and technology demo. The participants get a basic understanding of cognitive and behavioural neuroscience in connection with architecture and spatial analysis.
